The Compass Control System was originally developed to provide an easy-to-use interface between the operator and the
switchgear and generation equipment but its’ uses have been successfully employed in many different environments. The
Compass Control System is a hardware and software platform that communicates with ALL of your building’s equipment. Switchboards,
generators, generator paralleling, data center infrastructure, building automation, security and fire control and
monitoring systems can be brought together into an easy-to-implement and operate, powerful, comprehensive control
and monitoring system. The single platform simplifies the operators’ responsibilities by combining the various sources
of data onto a site-specific graphical display. Additionally, the Compass Control System offers the following:
- A graphical touchscreen interface for local operators to monitor and interact with the control system components
- Includes embedded staklite annunciation so that device status, including minor and major alarm events, are visible for all devices throughout the system
- Capabilities can be extended to include multi-site enterprise monitoring
- Can be viewed by any user anywhere in the facility, campus, enterprise or the world using any choice of browser
- Can be viewed by multiple, simultaneous users, any with the ability to view individual views of the system
- Incorporates multi-level and multi-user security measures that have been designed to meet governmental security requirements
- Hardware utilizes state of the art componentry with engineered passive cooling and non-rotational hard disk drives
- Expenses only a single IP address for communication connection to the clients’ intranet
- Hardware and software is site licensed and has NO client-side software or licensing which removes the frustration of traditional client access or version problems
- Metered elements are continuously trended so that the data is formatted for further analysist
- All system events and alarm conditions are supported with alarm acknowledgement and reset capabilities included. Easy to understand color coding coupled with status descriptions makes the event logs simple to navigate and operate
